Zombie snack attack!
Just an idea I had... people were talking about getting a big cluster around the people being 'attacked'... I think it'd be funny if people brought suitably gory-lookin' food (stuff that's edible but just *looks* like it might be guts or something) and then the zombies surrounding the victim could stage a 'feeding frenzy'.
possibilities include: - jelly donuts - red Fruit by the Foot (stretchy! and not as messy) - red jello - novelty Halloween candy that looks like eyeballs and junk - spaghetti drenched in sauce - anything drenched in ketchup - actual meat - this'd be the trickiest, given the potential for spoilage, so I wouldn't attempt it unless someone who Knows What They're Doing makes sure it's stored properly (though I can't deny that a touch of food poisoning would produce some truly authentic moaning!) Perhaps the 'victims' could have such things on their person, or the people with makeup could carry some as well. It wouldn't have to be a whole lot, of course, just enough to keep a few zombies occupied. Plus, you know, people get hungry, so it's win-win.

When I was in Target the other day, pre-walk, I saw the most amazing giant sized gummy brains. Pink and Purple. They would have been perfect! However the starving newlywed in me opted for lunch before the event. 1.99 EACH? What good is just ONE? Also I always tend to think I can make something better and then I promptly forget to. NEXT YEAR!

The gummy brains are good, but they're not nearly big enough. For the first Richmond walk, I made some brains using a brain Jell-O mold and ate 'em right out of me "pot o' gold" throughout the day. Those molds are really handy... I highly recommend 'em for your brainy needs.

i always have a hard time gettin the jello not to break up
comming out the mold i think i got it to work one time without falling apart

I saw a guy carrying around a huge bright red piece of of cauliflower, which I'm sure he painted red w/ food coloring. Now that was an awesome prop! Brains, anyone?
