Some basic tips needed

Hi there.
I'm setting up a Zombie Walk in my area, and could do with one or two basic tips to get me started as this is the first time I've had to organise one of these things.
The plan is to stage it in Bournemouth, UK (burial place of Mary Shelley, don'tcha know) on Saturday 30th October, but like I said could do with one or two things answered.

Essentially:
1/ Length? Is a mile too long? About right?
2/ Permissions? Do I need a permit of some kind? Must I simply inform the authorities or ask their permission?
3/ Organisation? How best to spread the word and get the best numbrs possible?
4/ Any other tips you'll offer as basic advice?

Thnaks in advance.

1. It depends on how long you want it to be. Time-wise that is. If you want it to last 2-3hours, it's going to need to be more than a mile.

2. You may or may not need to get a parade permit. It depends on how many people show up. Make sure to let the authorities know what's going on so that no one gets shot. You could always ask them if you really need one. But be wary, if you do get a parade permit, you may or may not get a police escort, and they tend to try and hurry things up a bit. It's up to you.

3. There's Facebook. Create an event page for it. Maybe start up a blog. Tell as many newspapers as possible. Maybe tell the local news station. Tell radio stations. Hell, even fliers on telephone poles might work- if you get a ton of them.

4. On the day of, remind your zombies not to attack people and use the haunted house method- DON'T TOUCH.

Wish you the best of luck! Let us know how it goes!
