I have found a lot of useful tips and tricks on how to make yourself look really cool as a zombie, but i haven't found ANY basics... AT ALL. No tutorials, nothing. Any help please? :(

Here's a couple quick tips to make yourself really gross :)

Bury your clothes you plan to wear for said walk in the ground (garden's work best coz they tend to be damper, and more muddy than typical lawn, but it really doesn't matter that much, when it comes right down to it, ground is ground) for a week or two before hand, then dig them up, they should have a nice colony or two of mildew going on, yes, it will be gross to wear, but if you want realism, this definetly works wonders.

Liquid Latex is your best friend, and to add extra realism, fray the edges of some paper towel or single ply toilet paper, and add bit's and pieces inbetween the layers of the latex, it looks a bit weird at the start, but once the latex dries, and you peel back the skin, or cut it into a scar or w/e and add some stage blood you get a movie quality wound.

Thats a couple I found that work really well, and here's a more indepth tutorial that covers some of the stuff I already talked about:

And to see some of it in action, here's some photo's of me at a halloween party in Reykjavík last year. No zombie walk unforutnatley, but this year I hope to organise one :)

This site has a couple tutorils, for good looking prothestics, burns, broken bones, ripped flesh, and some other basic stuff you can do that will look really good, without costing too much.

If you have some extra $$$ to spend, then there are more advanced tutorials out there. I'll have a look later through my favourites later if you'd like :)

The first and foremost person to consult with should be Dick Smith who is an extremely talented makeup artist. He will give you tips that involve very basic ingredients that cost very little. His clever techniques should impress anyone. Any film artist who generously shares so much is to be praised.

Also there is a fine site named GORIFY.COM. I personally enjoy reading their text because they understand the goal and seem to enjoy 'plain engish' text similar to Dick Smith. The people who share information without trying to be the ultimate experts are the ones topay attention to because they share from one friend to another.

Also note expertvillage.com
