Would anyone have any suggestions as to the best length and/or route for a DC walk? I'd like somewhere moderately populated, and somwhere w/bathrooms occassionally on the route so folks can go if they need to. Finding a good length n' start finish point to congregate would be awesome, too. Perks would be having somewhere w/shops along the way (in case lurchers need refreshment/potty breaks) as well as a route that other groups have protested along in the past. :)

I can't help with specifics for your area, but in general I recommend you plan the route thusly:

Pick a route that takes about 45 minutes to walk (remember that you will be making stops to attack newcomers and turn them into zombies).
Pick 3 points on that route and say "we will start at Point A at 1pm, then we'll take this route to point B where we will be around 1:15, Then we'll be at point C around 1:30. If you come in costume you can meet us at Point A. Otherwise space yourself along the route like "dots" in pacman so that we'll have a constant supply of bystanders to attack. Wear a patch of duct tape on your torso as a sign that you want to be attacked and converted. Wear clothes we can destroy."

BTW, after that short route is done, let the mob goes where it wants without a route. Maybe have a final destination, but take the long way there and take suggestions from the mob as to where they want to go.

But have someone at the front and the rear to keep it from getting too spaced out. Walkie Talkies are neat, but cell phones work without giving you away as the leader.
