Hey everyone! Just found out about this site through the Calgary Walk site. I've never heard of this till now and I must say. FAN-TAS-TIC!

I immediately registered edmontonzombie.com and want to plan a walk for us for next year. I'm thinking it's too late to plan something for this year, but with a year till next halloween I should have plenty of time to put a plan together.

So where does a person start with planning something like this?

Hey.

I am planning a zombie-walk-like event in edmonton, for this year. It's not quite the same.

During the summer, I've been running MANHUNT (http://www.manhunt-edmonton.com) here, which is a kind of urban tag. On the 31st we are playing in zombie makeup. It's like a zombie walk but with more ACTION. So tell your friends and come out!

Okay...so I just joined yesterday, and it seems there are others like me (a little smelly, stuff falling off here and there...you know...the usual)
So to all of you reading this...
come Hell or High Water....
On FRIDAY NIGHT...JULY 7...2006...(I have waited so long to say this...)
EDMONTON IS HAVING A ZOMBIEWALK!!!!
Not some Saturday afternoon stroll through a moderately populated core...
ON FRIDAY EVENING DOWN WHYTE AVE!!! ACROSS THE HIGH LEVEL BRIDGE!!! THROUGH THE LEGISLATURE GROUNDS!!! UP TO CHURCHILL SQUARE!!! THEN BACK TO THE NEW CITY COUMPOUND!! (10081 Jasper Ave PH: 429-2582) YAH!!!! :D
From there, New City is proud to bring you DEADFEST 06.
(We've just begun advertising it in SEE and Vue magazines, but be patient...posters are coming.)
The party commences as the walk dies down (pardon the pun) and live music will be supplied in the form of a big smelly zombie-issue can of rockabilly whoop-ass in the form of what's left of...

THE SWITCHBLADE VALENTINES
THE ROD IRON HAULERS (Hollers?)
THE NIGHTSTALKERS

You bet yer dead ass there will be drink specials for zombies only, and admission is gonna be ***** if you're in costume.

The walk itself will be a DUAL WAVE ZOMBIE ATTACK.

The first wave, or "super zombies" will meet at GAZEBO PARK (just off Whyte Ave) anytime in the afternoon, really...
At 7:00 PM, the zombies take over the Ave. We go down Whyte Ave from 104 st to 109st (we must stick togeather! Power in numbers!)
From there,you'll be going up 109 st, and across the High Level Bridge, and from there, make your way to the wading pools in front of the Legislature Grounds meet with our SECOND WAVE!! The whole crew leaves the Legislature Grounds at 9PM, and I still need to figure out the exact route from there, but we'll be heading up Jasper Ave, and up to Churchill Square...but there are several really cool ways to get there (Pedways through Edmonton Centre, etc.)...I'm open to suggestions...
I will post more details as I get them.

News about the Edmonton Zombie walk has reached my end of the net, and i'm doing my best to spread it around.

Let me know if you need help with getting the Word to the Outside.

Maybe i'll make some sort of zombie-cake for the occasion. Excpet, more delicious and less rotting flesh.

yeaaaah so i was bmxing around randomly downtown yesterday and i saw a poster ripped up and laying on the ground and i thought i caught the words ZOMBIE WALK on it so i picked it up and man am i excited to hear about this. I always wondered if edmonton did a zombie walk cause i hit up the one in vancouver last year and it was pretty wicked.
