Although my choice seems obvious and cliche, I favour the classic symbol of badass: the chainsaw. The lawnmower is too heavy and unwieldy, the flamethrower and the Molotov cocktails cause the risk of inhaling fumes contaminated by the Zed Virus. Firearms are a good choice. But for close combat, and rest assured there may be much of that if there are enough of the non-breathers, the chainsaw distinguishes itself. It is gloriously gory, satisfyingly fun to use, only remotely difficult to maneuver, aesthetically pleasing, and sufficiently deadly.
