So, for anyone who's interested and has a bit of time, there will be a double feature Zombie Walk and Picnic on May 3rd.

The picnic itself is going to be just that...a picnic. Just worry about
bringing food for yourself and your group. It won't be potluck, since
that could end up being a huge pain in the ass to clean up. The idea is
zombie family and friends all showing up in the same place to enjoy an
evening in the park. Bring frisbees, hackey sack, whatever you would
do on a normal picnic...BUT TRY TO STAY IN CHARACTER!! It'll end up
looking hilarious. I believe there will be several people (including media,
if history is any indication...) videotaping the whole thing.

Here's the plan...At 5:15PM, we start at MacIntyre Park just off Whyte
Ave, and 104st. A lot of you know it better as Gazebo
Park. It's the gazebo...and park (ahem) next to the public library,
across from the funeral parlour. It's on the corner of 104st and 83ave.
From there, we go down Whyte Avenue towards the University (am I the
only one giddy about going down Whyte on a Saturday?).

Okay...this is important. For the first time ever, we're taking the
zombies onto the LRT.

**YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE A TICKET!! WE WILL BE PASSENGERS ON THE
ETS, AND AS SUCH, JUST BECAUSE WE'RE IN COSTUME, THAT DOESN'T MEAN WE'RE
EXEMPT FROM THE RULES. I KNOW THEY MAY NOT EVEN CHECK...THAT'S NOT THE
POINT. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE FARE...OR A BUS TICKET...YOU KNOW THE
DRILL...**

I haven't decided yet if we'll be going to the University Station, or
the Health Sciences Station...but we'll be riding the train to Grandin
Station, and the First Wave will end on the steps of the Legislature.

Our Zombie Picnic will take place in the park behind the Legislature
Building. It's a large, beautiful space where hopefully it won't be
raining. Or snowing. We'll start doing our second wave after the picnic,
at around 8:15PM.

The Second Wave is for the benefit of the ******** zombie ninjas among
us, as well as the people who will be joining me at New City Suburbs
afterwards for some wobbly pops and zombie dancy goodness.
It'll begin at around 8PM - 8:15 (depending on how long it takes to
clean up after the picnic...) and go down Jasper Ave. It'll take the same
route as last time, through Scotia Place, and over to Churchill Square.

There will be donations collected for the Food Bank, and make sure your costume will be wearable for several hours. Also, if you have kids of suitable age, bring them along! The last zombie walk had a whole pack of them, they had a great time and were hilarious to watch, and spoooky to listen to!
Lakira and I will be going for sure, and we'd love some more company.
