11am - 12noon.
It's part of a Live Art piece run by some dirty students from York St John Uni, but we urge anyone, as many as possible to come along.
Here's the info...
Legions of the undead! Rise! Now is the time to reclaim the streets from these cheeky, smug, breathing mortals that have for so long supressed our kind!
On Friday the 2nd of November at 11am, we invite you to meet us at the riverside near the Lowther in the centre of York, from where we will walk the salted Earth and dusty concretes of the city centre.
ZOMBIES UNITE!
Okay, seriously though... here's the deal. Dress up as a zombie. Raggedy old clothes, pale face, bloody mouth... go as nuts as you want! The walk starts at 11am near the Lowther and will travel along an organised route to the quad in the centre of the York St John campus (we shall arrive just before midday to spend a little time chasing down unsuspecting students) after which those that are studying live art can shuffle into drama 2 and drop out of character.
It's that simple!
Lowther >>>>> shuffle through York >>>>>> YSJ quad. (brains.)
You don't need to tell us you're coming, just show up. Bring some friends. Bring all your friends, and their friends. And... so on.
There are a few simple rules to follow, so here's the dull bit...
1 - Meet at the Lowther BY 11am. We're setting off at that time, so it would be best to get there 5 or 10 minutes early.
2 - Stay with the pack. We will be stopping every now and again, but the stops and starts will be signalled by the head zombie.
3 - Don't touch the public. As tasty as they look, if you try and eat some old lady brains, she will not appreciate it. Nor will the police...
4 - Don't enter any shops, even for cake. Stick to the streets.
5 - We have planned the route to avoid as many roads as we can, but we still hit two crossings. When we get to the crossing, simply gather together and allow the "none-undead helper" to press the button and guide you across.
6 - Stay in character. Don't speak in human words to anyone you see, anyone you know. If you must break out of character, find the "none-undead helper" and motion for them to step aside with you. Don't shatter the illusion that the undead have risen and are taking back York!
7 - No ****** phones or cameras! Someone will be filming and taking plenty of photos on the day, and all these will be uploaded onto the internet for you to get your dirty undead fingers on!
I think that's about it, if there's anything else it will be mentioned on the day!
So, 11am at the Lowther, to finish at 12noon at the YSJ quad.
Let the march commence!!
