How does one sell the idea to others about a zombie walk? I want to try to get my campus club that I'm in sold on the idea and offer support.

Hi! That's a great idea!!

That's the thing with these, though... either someone's into them or they're not. =(
I'd say to search the web for some success stories [there are likely tons right here on this site, but the ones that rise to the top of my head are San Francisco and Columbus... oh! ..and Pittsburgh!] and entice them with those stories and pictures... If they still resist after that, then they don't know what they're missing!

At that point, you can have one of your own and when it's a smash hit, you can convince them to take the reigns with you as a helper in the future? Eh?

GOOD luck!

Do what the local bands do...

Create single page ads, print 100 or 200 copies and post them all over. An uncomplicated ad is best. Here are the components you could consider:

A clearly stated time and date
Are donations needed?
Where is the party after the walk?
Is anyone offering to help with make-up?
What will be the approximate length of the walk?
What are the rules of conduct (these could be on a webpage).
Include a simple zombie picture that doesn't distract from the text.

Just like a band promo you'll want it to be visually stimulating, uncomplicated and clearly informative.

Check the many Walks from other cities listed on the homepage of this site. You'll get some ideas.
Invite some living friends, too. Don't let them feel left out.
